Classes
I am considering offering a maskmaking class in Portland in October. It would likely consist of three to five 2hr sessions, and would be targeted to adults and possibly kids over 12. Not sure if it would be evenings or weekends. I'm interested in your feedback...

I'd go if I lived in Portland still. I'm not sure if thats any help to you at all though (probably not ^_^; ).

If there was ever a time I wished I lived in Portland, it would be now. Damn.

I am very flattered, but there are certainly plenty of other factors one must consider when wishing they live somewhere! :)

Makes me wish I lived in Portland.

If you are going to do this, can I post about it on a couple of puppetry boards since the questions of mask making came up just the other day and I think I know some people up in your neck of the woods?

Kath the Puppeteer

Oh and first time 'round, I would limit it to 16 and up due to the attention factor needed for this sort of thing unless you know the kid's got the attention span you need.

I teach a couple of courses on puppetry both building and performing and I limit the ages or adjust my workshop accordingly.

Once I get more of the details clarified, that would be fabulous if you wanted to post about it on some puppet boards.

I wondered if 12 might be a bit young--it's been years since I taught kids a maskmaking class! I'll be interested to see what the response is going to be though, if it includes more adults, or kids, or a mixture.

Thanks for your comments! :)

Hi Ginger, thanks for your response and enthusiasm! Unfortunately, I don't know how to reach you to give you news or updates about the classes. Right now though, it looks like the classes won't happen until after October. If you read this, please drop me a line at the mail address on this page. All the best!
