New Website

The first draft of the new website is up. I still have to tweak the link colors, and how the tables display in Firefox. It is not a fancy website, really just more of a token online presence. There is no web store presently, and I'm not sure if I will reopen that in future. The plan is actually for the business to be much less web-oriented from now on, which will hopefully give me the time to make some new art. Prior to my closing the studio last year, it was a real battle to keep up with web orders as well as produce new, original works. And with a new family member, there is less studio time altogether! But masks and horns will continue to be available from a few of my retailers, I just won't be handling the paperwork and shipping for individual orders anymore.

Also trying to decide if I will eventually move this journal over to a WordPress installation on my webserver, somehow I have a notion that it would look more professional? If I could make WordPress entries automatically feed over to this Livejournal account, I would be thrilled.

Make sure to check my Shows and Exhibitions page to find out about a couple of Portland shows I am currently producing pieces for.

We missed you too! I am really hoping we will be there next year. We really wanted to go this year, but with Fat Tuesday occuring so early in the season it was far too cold to have a baby at the market. Next year will be easier for many reasons. But it was very strange not to be there for the first time after 6 years in a row!

He is very well thank you! And just getting to the point where he can play happily with his toys by himself for awhile, so I can get a little bit of work done in the studio! We'll have to see what happens when he starts to crawl though, (and walk, and run....)

Hi Monica,

Welcome back, and congratulations on your newest arrival!
I've missed seeing your work online. I'm a fellow mask-maker and collector, and have been a huge fan of your work right from the early days when you were still making Labyrinth pendants! I'm very happy to own one of your raven masks.

I use wordpress and I have to say it does look very professional and is easy . I'm not sure if you can automatically cross post, but there is always copy/paste...

Best wishes,

Helen Rich

Thanks Helen! It is always so nice to hear back from my old customers.

It is nice to be back online, but we'll have to see how much I'll actually be around. Hoping I will be able to start posting semi-regular photos of what is being worked on in the studio, kind of a behind-the-scenes feature.

By the way, I just stopped by your website--you have some wonderful masks! I'm sorry you haven't continued to update your old livejournal with your new work, over the last couple of years your creations have really taken off.
